My Favorite Art Work
My favorite work of art is "Composition with Grid VII" by the artist Piet Mondrian, in 1919.
Mondrian is best known for his works of art which are abstract (not traditional). Not only that, but he focuses on rectangles and squares. Generally, I'm not a fan of abstract art, but this piece is one of the exceptions. The colors used are all the primary colors, as well as grey and black. The painting is quite old, so the colors are faded. For an abstract work it looks very simple, which is something that is rare in abstract works of art. This piece is very pleasing to look at as well. Unlike some other pieces of art, this one doesn't have a whole story behind it (which is why I like it).
